Number of live births in the Republic of Serbia in the period Janury-February 2024 amounted to 10 088. Compared with the same period of the previous year, when the number of live births was 10 083, noted was the increase in live births by 5, i.e. 0.1%.
Number of deaths in the Republic of Serbia in the period January-February 2024 amounted to 19 012, and if related to the same period 2023, when it was 18 037, it recorded increase by 975, or 5.4%.
Average gross salaries and wages calculated for January 2024 amounted to 132 372 RSD, while average net salaries and wages amounted to 95 836 RSD.
In January 2024 average net salaries and wages increased by 15.8% in nominal terms and by 8.8% in real terms compared with the same month last year.
Median net salaries and wages for January 2024 amounted to 73 733 RSD, meaning that 50% of employees realised wages and salaries up to the mentioned amount.
Producer prices of agricultural and fishing products in January 2024, compared to the same month of 2023 were decreased by 17.6% average.
The number of all road motor vehicles and trailers registered in 2023 in the Republic of Serbia recorded increase relative to the number of registered vehicles in 2022, by 2.5%. Decrease was noted regarding mopeds, buses and special purpose motor vehicles.
Among domestic trademarks, the largest number of registered passenger cars was produced by Zastava trademark. Regarding foreign trademarks, the following manufacturers were the most notable: Volkswagen, Opel, Fiat, Renault, Peugeot, Audi, Ford and Citroen.
In 2023, 919 868 freight road vehicles exited from the territory of the Republic of Serbia over international road border crossings and 9 999 tons of goods were exported. Relative to 2022, the number of freight road vehicles in exit decreased by 1.8% and the quantity of exported goods decreased by 4.4%. Vehicles with registration of the Republic of Serbia, in 2023, carried somewhat over two thirds of total quantity of the exported goods (67.4%). The number of freight vehicles that imported goods to the territory of the Republic of Serbia in 2023 decreased by 0.4% compared to 2022. Vehicles with registration of the Republic of Serbia, in 2023, imported 46.4% of total quantity of the imported goods.
Average prices of new construction dwellings in the Republic of Serbia in the second half of 2023 amounted to RSD 207 103, presenting the decrease of 4.8% compared to the second half of 2022. Apartment prices in the observed period ranged from 48 344 dinars per m² in Bujanovac to 495 981 dinars in the Belgrade municipality Savski venac.
Average prices of new construction dwellings in the Republic of Serbia in 2023 amounted to RSD 211 103, presenting the increase of 0.7% relative to 2022. Dwellings’ prices in the observed period ranged from RSD 50 495/m2 in Bujanovac up to RSD 491 596 in Belgrade municipality of Savski venac.
In January 2024, the number of 1 615 building permits was issued, presenting the increase of 3.0% when compared to January 2023. Out of the total number of permits issued in January 2024, 82.4% related to buildings, and 17.6% to civil engineering constructions. When only buildings are concerned, 81.4% of permits related to residential buildings, and 18.6% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering constructions the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (65.1%).
